Talk with other students... Take a lot of courses in the beginning, and skip them you dont like... It seemt real easy just to pick a new course during the first month or so... There's so little control and few teachers controls who shows up when. At some courses in auditoriums there's like 100 students, so in theory you can just sign up for the exam in the end of the course and take the exam without studying. At others the professor really controls who goes, and this matters when he give the grade at the end of semester... Talk with the professors in the beginning of the course so that he knows that you are interested in it. The small courses are often much better than those for the crowds. Write notes...
Dont buy the books, borrow them at the department libary and copi them... You dont want to use them after your study abroad anyway...

You should get informed about the courses you choose abroad. They are sometimes totally different from the courses at your home university.I also would recommand to have a litle talk with the teachers from the host university. They can give yous some tips for their course to be sure you pass their exams at he end of the year.

Not really. You just have to get used to the way things work there(changing schedules, teachers arriving too late,...).Academic life is totally different from what you are used too at your home university.

The old faculty of Architecture was very chaotic. It has been reorganised so I don't know how it is nowadays.

Yeah, more life at university. There were no student parties on campus, everything was off campus.

The university is very different from my univeristy in Spain. There is no control over the students: don't woory if you don't want to assist.
