I wish I had known...
"The Swedish way" - a large set of implicit social rules and values, which is affecting locals and their interaction with foreigners substantially. In short - lack of flexibility, novatorism and understanding with respect to foreigners. Swedes - very special people in their own way, a bit dull, too.

Best school for Finance education in Europe, above average level for Marketing and Economics, low quality of Business courses. Generally, a very interesting and rewarding experience. If you come just for a few months or half a year to have fun - it's better to go South (Spain, Italy, etc.): people are more relaxed there.

Every single move costs in Sweden, travel is rather expensive, yet the nature is exclusive - don't think many people have been in the areas of permanent cold and snow..

Take as many trips organised by the exchange committee as possible. Always great fun and the best way to get to knwo your fellow exchange students. Russia and Lappland are particularly worth mentioning.

I would highly recommend it. Althgouh it is expensive and quite cold in Stockholm, the city is amazing. The school has an amazing reputation (at least in NZ) and the work load and courses really helped prepare me for my final year at my home university. The fact that you live with other international students really broadens the experience, not to mention the school takes care of you really well with dinners, orientation and trips.

Make sure you take lots and lots of money if you plan on studying in Sweden. Travel as much as you can as it is quite cheap to get around Europe. And go check out Kiruna if you can, its up north and is where the ice hotel is.

Bachelor at SSE
Edith W
Sweden,
Business Studies, 2023
Overall
SSE has offered great opportunities to advance in the field of business and economics. First and foremost, the staff and the students are knowledgable, ambitious, and driven and constantly improve and learn, which are qualities that have rubbed off on me.  I am more than ever curious to learn and explore current and future ways of maintaining economic sustainability in the world. During the BSc-program I have also explored different areas within economics such as entrepreneurship, macro-and microeconomics, marketing and strategy, and accounting and financial management. From this, I have learned to especially appreciate the last mentioned, which I also majored in. Accounting and financial management coupled with entrepreneurship and innovation is an area I aspire to pursue a career within. I have at SSE had the chance to leverage these aspiration by being an active student in the student association, where I have organized events aiming to inspire other students about art, culture, and alternative saving methods.

The welcome session is probably one of the best you can have. And the courses are really interesting. There are many parties organised. So SSE is good for people who want to work hard and have fun.

Don't visit Uppsala. Try to come in summer - Sweden is so much nicer then. Be a citizen of the European Union, it makes things easier and cheaper.
