Course recommendations
Learn loads of "Technical" german. Being able to speak it is not the same as understanding all the scientific and technological terms. Most ppl here aren't eager to help either - they just look at you like you're a retard for not understanding and your self esteem just goes to pieces.

I would appreciate more support and understanding for international undergraduates! Sarcastic comments may motivate some but that does not include me.

I wish I had known...
I wish i had done more research into the area - perhaps visited before my course started. Seen if i could live here. This uni is proud of how many international students they have. Frankly, I'm not happy here and i think they could be more supportive and understanding of int. students. The reason why other int. students and i stay? Well, 'cause it's either taken so much effort, money or time to get here. Like the saying goes, "YOu've made your bed, now you've got to lie in it."

It's okay for an exchange year but i wouldn't recommend full time studies for your whole course!! It's torture...everytime i think i'm getting the hang of it, i am knocked down.

There's really just the Anno Tobak - a café/bar place and the Kellerclub where ppl just laze around... Most parties are held in instute buildings or the main cafeteria. There also could be more parties. Night life here is so so. If you've been used to more - or at least having a choice, when you get here you'll embrace every party you get with gratitude!
