well, there are a lot of coin denominations in the euro currency and that makes it very troublesome to carry coins around as you will end up with a lot of useless 1 cents , 5 cent coins that you cannot seem to get rid of. However you really need to have a local bank card and do all your transaction electronically to save yourself the hassle of going home with a bag full of useless coins.

Because of the coin. 1 fl.=75.5 pesetas. But also because you don´t want to lose any oportunity to know the country and the people, so you have to social life many times. In the other hand you have to eat to surbive and the food is more expensive.

I noticed almost no difference between the Spanish food prices and the prices of the Dutch. About housing, I usually live in Barcelona which is quite expensive, so I paid almost the same in Delft. Finally, I spent more in Nightlife and travelling because I did much more of this than usually.
