I wish I had known...
We were not properly informed about our subject choices. I was informed a week after arrival that I would not be able to follow the course in Distribution, when logistics is my core study in Utrecht. We were also not well advised about the course content in advance, many of my electives were chosen on a blind guess

In some cases there were lecturers who were illsensed towards thier exchange students. I think more effort could have been put into their learning needs. It was sometimes taken for granted that all exchange students were there for a joy-ride and they were treated with some aloofness. This was probably the only institutional downfall, efforts from International Student Support Services were excellent

There are alot of student discounts available, using the student ID card. Always ask. Travelling by coach is cheapest, there is a discount card offered by National Express. Travelling in a group also reduces the cost.

I wish I had known...
At the time, I thought things could have been made a lot easier, but having been through it, I think one has to just struggle for oneself.

The Study Abroad experience is a great personal builder and invaluable. Anyone who has not done one, is truly less developed both academically and as a person. However, some of the struggles (though all struggles lead to growth) were completely unnecessary due to a poorly organized Exchange Department, so I would suggest students not study abroad at Nottingham Trent University.

Vibrant, Engaging and Well-Rounded
Isaac G
United Kingdom, Undergraduate
Economics, 2020
Overall
A vibrant and modern campus situated in the centre of Nottingham, a city that is invigorated by the huge influx of students from two universities every year. The university offers a practical, vocational side to studies that many universities try, but fail, to achieve which makes it a very attractive university to both students and employers alike. The student community is incredible with one of the best Student Unions in all of England which attracts thousands of students every week and even students from other universities who are in search of the nightlife that Nottingham Trent can offer!

Pros
Vocational Courses, Great Student Community and city based.
Cons
Not 100% of teachers/lecturers were up to standard, but this was offset by those who helped greatly.

My UK adventure with NTU!

Overall
Well, due to the pandemic, I have not really had the chance to enjoy the university experience here in the UK. I went for in-person classes, more precisely workshops, only during the term one from October until December. After that, the long-term lockdown started.
Overall, I am enjoying the course and I have learned many new things, especially that I am studying a field now that it is new to me knowing that I am an electrical and electronics engineer.
The teachers are interactive. They always push us to ask questions and they are always ready to answer our questions. They share with us the academic literature that we should read to expand our learning.
The course leaders have been so understanding and supportive with my health situation and they approved on four extensions. They contacted for help support and they have kept asking about me every week.
