I spent much time with other norwegian students and I know that I could have learned more english spending more time with locals. (Off course I did that too!) But my written english has improved after all the essay writing! I have no problems to write in English. (And no problems to speak)

Its just english so you'll be fine, new zealanders do have a special accent and funny words but everything is easy to get mate, oh but be careful hen talking to maori people you will will have to put extra attention that accent is really something eh can take you a while to be confortable with it

I know English since I was in Elementary School, I only had troubles with the slangs and the accent at the begginning but I coped very well with time
