Personal comments
You learn spanish quickly because thats the language you are going to use. Learn it and you will love Granada. The accent of Granada is a little tricky to pick up, but by the end, you will love the nuances of it. Also, stay for longer than four months, then you can keep up with the language and be proficient while still there.

Gramatically, Spanish is quite an easy language to learn but the Andaluz accent is more difficult to understand because they cut off half of the words when they speak. Try to find someone from Granada and speak to them beforehand.

Overall

Personal recommendation
If you don't do well on your placement test, speak with the administration and they will reevaluate you. Don't just accept what they put you in if you disagree.

Final comments
do not bring a rolly bag, the trainstations rarely have escalators. If you are going to be traveling bring a hiking bag.
