Translating/interpreting faculty fantastic for language learning and not-too-demanding courses - other faculties where much more hard work.

Cuando yo estudié en Granada en España solo habia tres facultades en donde se impartía Traducción, Granada, Barcelona y Canarias. Cursé dos semestres en Alemania porque allí la carrera para mi era más interesante, al ser alemán mi primer idioma extranjero

The alhambra, of course, and the sight of it at the Mirador de san nicolas! incredible! the cinema "granada 10", which becomes night club after the movie-time, has an opera-style interior, golden sofas, and you can have your drink while looking at the film (it really doesn't matter what film you see at this cinema, the location itself is worth a visit! la taberna, a little cafe, best tapas in town (although i think they changed them now, but still..)the street with the "teterías", where you can have your tea in oriental atmoshpere while smoking an waterpipe. la plaza nueva, watch out for hundreds of students doing the traditional "botellón", a kind of "get-your-botlle-and drink-in-the-streets-socializing-event" every thursday, friday and saturday night..great experience...and so much more..

Es una buena universidad aunque está condenada por una burocracia ineficiente y, a veces, por un tradicionalismo que la hacen demasiado hermética y conservadora por lo que hay profesores muy mayores que no están adecuadamente actualizados.

The university has much to offer; a great academic level, an extensive course program and an interesting social aspect.

1. Do as much travelling as you can, without loosing touch with the city. 2. Try to adapt the Spanish way - 'when in Rome, do as the Romans'!! 3. The cafes at 'La Plaza de Einstein' offers great cheap tapas - enjoy :)

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
living in a house seemed to be the best option, and in fact almost the only one. I first looked for a residence, but the university offers very few. Then i looked for a Colegio mayor, which is a kinda residence, but with religious orientation, and it just was 3 times more expensive than a house, was very young, and had just too many rules (be back by 11, can't lock room, etc.) for someone used to autonomy. Anyway, looking for the adds of rooms to rent or appartments and houses to rent is pretty much what every does in granada, and with reason because its efficient. An advice would be to get there one or two weeks before beginning of classes if you want to find something in the best part of the city, which is Albayzin and Realejo, because competition is fierce there.
