It is great! El centro de lenguas modernas, part of the University of Granada is specifically steered towards foreigners, so you are not competing with native Spaniards.

Try finding accomodations with people from other countries, not your native country and not people who speak your language - this way you will be forced to speak Spanish, and you'll learn about other cultures and languages, and best of all you'll meet great people.

I really enjoyed my translation course in the facultad de traductores. I also would recommend the Spanish intensive course that runs in the first two weeks of September at CLM if you don't mind paying a bit to get the language experience started before term.

Before I went to Spain, I could speak well the language. Most peopöe are very happy when they hear some words of slang from you. Moreover, most of the natives are pretty open-minded and help you in case of language prblems. However, ypou have to be a very open- minded person, too. If not, it is difficult to have a good discussion with natives. Most of the contact will remain pretty superficial.

Teachers were great, although some courses fed not make much sense. As a foreigner with almost no Spanish it was not that difficult for me to pass all the exams.
