I had a problem : I wanted to improve my Spanish but all the local people spoke Catalan!!! I didn't learn Catalan on purpose because I wanted to strengthen my Spanish knowledge. So for 4 months I had spent my time with Spanish-speaking people like Mexicans to improve it. After that, I tried to speak a bit of Catalan.

Housing at the university is much expensive that sharing a flat. It's very tiny as well. Some friends of mine who had the opportunity to change it didn't hesitate a second.

Don´t forget that LLeida is in Cataluña. This implies that a lot of courses are in that languages and teachers won´t change the language for your pleasure! So you have to get prepared about this thing...I think I didn't.

Take dictionaries with you - the vast majority of teachers and students DO NOT speak foreign languages.

You can visit Barcelona, Zaragoza, Tarragona and Girona whenever you like. For other cities, you need money and transportation (which doesn't come very cheap).
