Open an accout as soon as you arrive to avoid transfer charges from home. Bring money from home in cash or traveler's cheques as this also avoids charges. Always ask about possible charges, there are much more banking charges there than here.

No financial surprises other than that everything was significantly cheaper. The only cost saving tip I could give would be not to eat out in tourist areas (city centre, Santa Cruz, all along the river....) because those areas are all more expensive. Also the Mercadona supermarkets tend to be the cheapest.

Hay muy buen ambiente, muy buena formación en finanzas, contabilidad, auditoría, banca...
take classes for foreigners and classes with spaniards. it makes all the difference to have them both and stay the whole year. its not worth it to stay one semester

i found that the majority of exchange students cling together and never really try to learn the foreign language and that makes it really hard at first. later i made a stronger effort to get to know more locals, and that´s when i really begin to learn spanish.
