If you are choosing to take courses in Italian then make sure that you interact with the other Italians from the word go because they are the best way to make sure you improve your italian and to ensure that you have understood everything in the class. Plus the longer you leave it the harder it becomes to approach them, they are unsure of how much Italian you know and are less forthcoming.

Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
There is not much contact with the local students, you really have to work for it. also not that many cources to choose from if you do not speak italian. no campus life.

Huge selection of courses available to international students. The list is quite limited if you don't want to study through Italian, but otherwise you can choose from ANY courses that the Italians take.

Oral exams can be ery daunting for foreign students. The Italians study courses differently to Irish students. Rather than learn what a course is about and gaining an understanding of it, they instead seem to prefer memorising books which is a bit pointless!

Personal comments
There are too many students in this university, so the housing system through the university is complicated. I personally did not find anything through the university system, what is more, I found it quite chaotic. If you are to use it you should have a look in advance and make sure you are staying for a reasonable amount of time (one year better than just a term).

Personal comments
No offense but italians are not known to be the best english speakers. Overall though it was seldom a problem. At the university most of the interaction was in english. Socially and everyday-life-wise it was a little frustrating in the beginning but it didn't take long to get to know the most basic phrases and by the fourth month I started to be able to have conversations in italian. As long as you are eager to learn there are few problems.

Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice

Why?
It is a good way to live on with other international students on your own, in another country. It makes for a more immersive experience, just blending right int to the culture

There were not many choices for me going to study at Bocconi, in finding accomodations. I showed up at the university for language class, staying in a hotel for two weeks while I was figuring out where to live. A little aggravating, but a great learning experience.
