Despite the size of the rooms, that were pretty small, and the shared facilities, it was in general a significant experience and an opportunity to develop my adaptability skills.

Because the dormatory was too far from the center. most of the french people I got to know lived in the center or close to university!

On the one hand it was really nice because you were always surrounded by a lot of people, on the other hand you do not really improve your language skills because there are as well a lot of other erasmus people who rather speak English than French.

My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.)
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)

At beginning I had a lot of problems because I could not speak frenc at all and the French are not so experienced with english. I was lucky to have some good french friends who can speak good english. When I left the country, I could communicate with local citizens.
