In france, if you want to rent an appartement on your own, you have to pay a caution referring to the rent payment for 1 year! which is deposited at the bank until you leave.

No, it wasn't.

My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)

Due to lots of written and oral exams I had to adapt quickly to this new situation. But I essentially improved my French skills during an internship in summer 1998 when I got in contact and made friends with French people.

Because the level of costs is much higher than at home - especially housing & most of the food are incredible expensive in Paris. You'll need at least 1300-1500 Euros to live there a nice and pleasant life!
