Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Lille1 is about 6 km away from the city center. It is easy to stay on 5 minutes by walk to the faculty, but unfortunately there not much to do on the campus (except for the Erasmus parties).
The rooms are quite small. There are only few communal rooms such as a study room or a relaxation room.

Personal comments
One thing to know is that you can rent a room on the campus from the International Relations office, but this 'll cost you 40 euros more then if you rent directely from the housing agency "crous" (157 euros).
In the city center there is a house called "la maison bleue". It's a house with 18 rooms for Erasmus students. You pay about 270 euros, but I think it's worth paying that.
