Milano has such a great variety of cafès, bars, discos and nightclubs and we chose to take advantage of as many as possible of them. As an exchange student the international evenings at Old Fashion Cafè was a must every wednesday - probably the most popular spot this night. In the summer season Borgo del tempo perso is an amazing place. Both inside and outside dancefloors and always packed, a little difficult to get to without a car but everything is possible when you want it enough. Cafè Solaire is also a mainly outdoor disco located on the bank of one the artificial lakes in the outskirts of the city. Interesting scene. Used to just hang out at Bar Magenta - place where all kinds of people go. Nice atmosphere, and a regular hangout for quite a few international students and au pairs. Palo Alto have a disco downstairs and a covered sidewalk cafe upstairs - aperitivo is also tasty here. The bar/aperitivo place we used the most was probably Yguana. Maybe the best aperitivo.... Good cocktails and always crowded. The places at Corso Como should not be forgotten - take your pick - there's plenty to choose from: Loola Paloosa, Hollywood, Casablanca, Touqeville, and the additional bars around. Bon divertimente.

Going around Milano was great. You are an international student, but there are the places to go - Propaganda, Old Fashion Cafe, Corso di Porto Ticinese, Palo Alto on Corso Romana, the list goes on and on. It really does not matter the spot - the Italians are out all the time, in the streets, smiling and happy and just enjoying the company. You can also try the Navigli for a high concentration of places to go out at night.

The Naviglio area is great in summer. Exchange students have regular, cheap places to go (such as Palo Alto0, but you get bored after a couple of months. It's worthwhile to go to other places as well. I really liked a small Cuban bar (good drinks, great atmosphere), I have forgotten the name but I thin it was on the street between Bocconi and Naviglio, from Bestrice d'Este to Piaggio Marzo XIV or something.

Can't beat a pizza from Da Willy's. For a facny night out in the disco's there's La Banque, near to Duomo. For a mad night out there's Palo Alto on a Tuesday night where SEN have the exchange nights out. The infamous SEN tram party is a must if there's one organised whilst you're there. On a clear day you must go to the top of Duomo. And of course a few drinks or a meal in the Brera on a Saturday night.

Cafe l'Atlantique for a chic and funky night out. Old Fashion every wednesday has an international evening which invites all international students in the city with free enrty; not to be missed. There are many good bars and restaurants in the trendy area of Porto Ticinese near the university.
