Personal spending habits
Housing was super cheap if you choose the live in the foresteria, which is the student's residence, nightlife in Italy in general is very expensive so you spend a lot more on drinking and at clubs.Of course when you are there you are going to travel a lot,so I spent a lot of money on travelling with friends and other international students.

Personal recommendation
It is a very small university in a very small city in the north of Italy. The university is academically spoken of very high quality, but it is a very small city.If you want to experience a good nightlife you have to go outside of the city centre or go to Bologna or other cities. But overall it is a good university.

Final comments
If you can arrange private accomodation I will recommend you do so,but on the other hand you meet so many great people from all over in the residence, that was the main reason I stayed there in spite of the poor conditions.I met so many great people, made friends for life, learned to speak a new language fluently, got to know another culture, enjoyed good food, people and a new country. These are experiences that I will never forget and that formed who I am as a person today.A truely amazing international experience!

I chose Italy specifically because I always wanted to learn Italian.I learned it pretty fast and the italian are always more that hapy to teach you and help you in their language.Communication with students and teacher was a little difficult in the beginning but after 2 months are so you get used to the language.

Housing
Type of housing: Student's residence
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Because I could have had more privacy and the facilities and cleanliness in the building were poor.

The university arranges the housing for you.One big advantage is that it's super cheap, but you dont have privacy beacause you will have a room mate and the room are very small for 2 persons. But on the other hand it is nice to be there for the people you get to know.

Well the best night spots are really outside of the city centre in the outskirts of Modena.Good places not the be missed are:Le Scuderie,Jam,Ohm,MU-VI,Snoopy and Juta.Cafe Concerto and not the be missed are all the free concerts held in the city centre on Piazza Grande and of course MUVI which is a great temporary nightclub and other activities behind the faculty of Economics in the Novisad park.
