It depends on whether you fancy ERASMUS student nights or the all hallowed "Locals" nights. Personally after the first three months I lost my will to be a stranger among the locals and I opted for the safe haven of the other Northern European students. "jam" is where the crowd head to on a Saturday night. The Golem cafe is good for unwinding the morning after and for cosy little meetings on cold winter evenings. The Giardini Margherita has a nice little cafe and is where everyone heads to "fare la passegiata" on a Sunday. I personally enjoy the walk up to the monastery of San Luca and then having a beer in the restaurant at the top (I would only advise this for the most active of you-there's a challenge!!). There is "Soleluna" the cheesy (fake) beach disco bar and if you fancy a real cheesy disco bar head down to Rimini (apparently the new Ibiza-I never saw much evidence of this???). Also make the most of the fact that Bologna is the central rail terminal and go anywhere you feel like!!!

The most speciall events in the night of Bologna where the spanish parties caused of the hight number of spanish students that are there. The most important day for Bologna is the 4th of October, there is a big cellebration in all the city, all the people go to the street and there are many spectaculs, wonderfull. There are two coffes I liked specially, the first "the mouse coffe", is a very original cibercaffe, and second "the vamolá caffe", there is something interesting always, don´t matter about the moment you choose, there are jazz concerts, magis shows..etc.

Gelatauro, Via San Vitale, best gelato in europe. Link, outside the city walls, near the station...alternative music, techno, less expensive than the discotechs, Trattoria Da Vito, near Coop San Vitale, really cheap and good. Via Zamboni is always happening. The Lumiere theater offers student memberships and play lots of great films

Cinema Lumier; walking the city is very nice and visiting the monuments like Le siete Chiese, or taking an ice-cream in a place close to Via San Felice; Night life is amazing (a bit expensive sometimes) discos like Made in Bo or pubs like Corto Maltese are a very good places. Bologna is very well located to travel all amazing country.

As Spain is the very best place to go out at night Bologna was a little bit disappointing for me but there were lots of spanish guys there and we all have made the bolognese night more interesting. Piazza Sto Stefano is the point where spanish guys meet to make botellon, as the heat arrives, more and more people do it with us.

Bologna is a typical student city, so there are many places worthy to see, particular the bars in Via Zamboni (La Scuderia, Irish Pub, Corto Maltese...). There are also numerous students parties, for example every Wensday student organization Aegee organized national evenings, with typical national food, drink, music...
