it was frustrating when people would respond back to my inquiry in english, however, after a while, people realized that i honestly wanted to speak their language and they were helpful and more than willing to give me a chance, J'aime la France!

hmmm, if at first you don't succeed... try and try again... try to speak the language, it really makes a difference in the overall experience
