Formation pluridisciplinaire dans le domaine de la communication
Helene
France, Graduate
Marketing and Sales Management
Université d'Orléans
4.0/5
Overall

Great teachers, but could use better equipment

Translation/Interpretation
Université d'Orléans
4.0/5
Overall
The University itself is great. Some of the teachers are incredibly cultured and clever and will definitely bring the best out of you. The main issue is the aging equipment and the lack of IT rooms to study. The library could gain from renovation as well, but the collection of books is definitely enough to get by.

Food in France is just goooood. I love french cheese! Telephone and housing just cost more. Traveling, well if you had a residence permit and could travel in the whole EU without any problems-what would you have done?;)

Eating out is expensive. So if you want to save more, try to cook more at home and to eat out on weekends.

Translation Master degree

Overall
In France, you have the mention "Diplome National de [Licence/Master/Doctorat] contrôlé par l'Etat", which basically assures the quality of the Master degree. The Translation Master degree at the University of Orléans does not have this mention, which is ok as many degrees in France do not have it and are still great.

To give some context, I write this review as a first-year student in this M.S (for the year 2020-2021).  So as for this year goes, we have two classes in common with another degree that are not "meant for us" (this is what we were told at the beginning of the year), and an interpretation class given by a teacher who does not know much about the subject (also what he said himself).
Except for those three classes (out of the 12 classes that we have), the rest of them are really good.

When it comes to the university in itself, it is about 30 minutes away from the city center by tram. It has a great number of restaurants on the campus and a large green space.

I wanted to discover as much as possible in my host country. As for accomodation - in general the prices are higher than in Poland. I wanted to stay in touch with my friends and family, the Internet wasn't available all the time, so I phoned quite often.
