With my class mates, the other international students(with them I spoke also french all the time, because almost everybody wa sthere to learn the language) with my roommates. And I have travelled a lot through the country, so I have communicated a lot in french.

Personal spending habits
I spend much more than at home. These 5 months were like a holiday for me, and then I do not have the feeling to save money etc. Furthermore, I travelled a lot which wa sexpensive and I saved a lot of money because I was looking forward to this exchange for a long time and I wanted to do almost everything I could.

I do not have a special recommendation. Everybody experiences an exchange in a different way and you cannot satisfy everybody. So this university did his bst for the international studnets.

Final comments
France is a beautiful country, you really have to see it. There are good facilities for students to travel, e.g. discounts, hostel information etc. And you have to realise that you are lucky you can do an exchange, you have to profit of it, you learn a lot of a country and yourself and you will never forget it, and sometimes you make friends for life.

In Besancon there were enough places to go!Cafes, bar-dancings, discotheques. Besancon was a very pittoresque city, with a river and a lot of beautiful nature.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
On a campus you have the possibility to meet a lot of other people. When you are going to live in another country it is sometimes very difficult to meet other people because of the language problems etc. But on a campus you have new 'friends' really soon. And you meet also a lot of other nationalities which is very fun.

Personal comments
It was a big campus with alot of facilities for everybody. But the only negative point was that it was not clean at all. I lived on a floor with 30 other students and we had to share 1 kitchen, 5 showers and 5 toilets. The rooms were 9m2, a bit small, but after a while I did not notice it anymore. The rooms were very clean and bright.
