Final comments
Bring a back pack for short trips, antibacterial hand gel and travel kleenex. Arrive with some local currency, that way you don't have to worry about money as soon as you get there.

Personal spending habits
Food was less thanks to prix fixe menus and student restaurants. Telephone was more because I was calling international. Travel is cheeper if you take the train and buy a "carte 12-25" which gives you 50% reductions.
