Marseille is a very lively place by night. Aix-en-Provence itself is much more quiet, more a "go out for a coffee" place

Academic
Course recommendations
lectures are delivered on a much more theoretical level than at my home university and last longer (up to 3hours), self study is therefore necessary

Personal recommendation
To go there not expecting it to be like a British University, being prepared to rely a lot more on yourself rather than on tutors/lecturers definately very useful to learn the language and learn different aspects in translation/interpreting studies

Final comments
travel tip: explore "provences alpes cote d'azur", STUNNING landscape, definately worth renting a car to see the region better than by bus/coach money saving tip: staying in the "Cité Universitaire" in Marseille and travel to Aix to attend lectures (cleaner and more modern)
