Valencia is a city full of energy; there are a lot of things to see and do on your free time and especially I could say that I loved travelling outside of the city and Spain; easy and cheap to go everywhere if u r up for it! If I would have to recommend something out of Valencia I would definately say small cafes, bars and if you are interested in sports there is a lot of variety but u have to be active. Carmen, Gran Via, and Blasco Ibañez are ideal for going out and my favourite places were Cafe Paris, Cafe Madrid, Tony Roma's (the best dessert in the world), Fresc Co (really good buffet), and the best restaurant for eating paella: Pepica, on the beach, on the far end near the harbour. There are plenty of bars and discos to go, just don't miss the light life!

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I would definately choose to live in a shared flat with Spanish speaking people because that way you can learn the language.

In M.U.S.T there is the chance to live in a residency but as I was recommended, I chose to live in a rented flat with other foreigners. The housing at the university would have been too expensive and would have not given the chance to learn Spanish so well.

Personal comments
Before going to Spain I had taken a basic course of Spanish and from the beginning on I found it very interesting and challenging to speak with the locals . My Spanish skills approved a lot and I was happy that I spoke with courage and did not mind about mistakes. I study in English so therefore I had no problems with the instruction language.

Academic
Course recommendations
I had a lot of difficulty in choosing the courses because there was not a lot of selection and most of them overlapped with each other. Out of the courses I took I would recommend MIS (Management Information Systems), Spanish and International Economy. I had only five courses during the time I was there.

Personal spending habits
Food in Spain is a bit cheaper than in Finland and at times we ate out which is about the same as in Finland. Phone costs were a lot higher than in Finland ( do not make phonecalls, send SMS, sim card costs quite a lot). I paid about 190€/ month for living including all the expenses (gas, electricity, water). When going out I realised Finland is more expensive but some bars in here might have an entrance fee of about 12€ (inlc. one free drink). I spent a lot of time for travelling as it is so cheap to fly to other European countries from heer and also the train in Spain is not very expensive (shorter distancies).

Use Vueling for travelling...I recommend renting a car if u r planning a trip to Andalucia. We did a five day trip to Andalucia by car and enjoyed it a LOT!! I used the metro in Valencia most of the time (5,60/10 trips) and to the uni I went by bike which I bought from here (from Mestalla u can buy used ones, or new ones from Alcampo).

Final comments
I recommend booking a flight via Ryanair if u wanna save on costs. Don't carry too much stuff with u cause u will always buy some and bring warm clothing with u (the weather is humid during the winter). I loved my stay in here and do not regret coming there at all. I would do it again and definately recommend it to other people; go when u still can and take the most out of it. Studying is not the most important thing ;)
