Housing
Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: with other students who speak spanish
Why?
Although I benifitted from living with a family, it would give me more freedom and independence

The University has a very good atmosphere, the site i studied at was on the Rambla. The teachers are very explanitory, and they give you a placement test beforehand. The one things that i feel are lacking in this U. are: the computers suck, they don´t have any art programs or athletic programs, only provide you with information on alternative options around the city.

Its easier to learn Spain if you stay with some Spanisch people in one flat.

There are some programms from the University, wich help you to find a accomodation. Its no problem to get some. The habitations for students are o.k. . But i think its better to search your accomodation private, because you have to live with Spain people to learn the language.

I preferred to integrate myself with other spanish people instead of the other erasmus students. in spain people tend to stay closer to home for university, and for that reason a lot of university accomodation is primarily for those from abroad.

Because in Barcelona most exchange students use this way of accomodation, and not student residences. You are more indepent this way

there is a good service BHSS (barcelona housing service for students) where you can find many ads, but i would recommend arriving there and looking for an apartment then!

I really think we had a good structure of accomodation, and it was also up to us to manage to enjoy it and try to use it as best as possible!

It zas a very larege appartment that I shared with a boy from Chile and a Belgium girl. I learned a lot about the Chilian culture while living with him.
