the university dormitories are too expensive compared to the shared flats. there are two options where to live - San Vicente, which is right next to the university but is a village and Alicante - which is down on the sea. Not good not bad. i'd say it's a good place to be for like 3-4 months not more.

All students live an apartment in Alicante. The rent is very cheep and you can share the apartment with other students. In this way you have the opportunity to improve your language skill and it's very easy to find a room!

The university can help you to search for a house but sometimes it's better do it by yourself. In this way you can see different accomodations and then choose the one that you preffer.

I loved living with a family. They had a 4 year old daughter that I would talk to. They were wonderful people and they were the main source of my practice in Spanish.

My accommodations were very humble. Tile floors, concrete block walls, apartment setting, but my host mom was a neat--freak, so everything was clean. It was definitely different than my house here in the States, but it was fine.

The International Students Office at the Universitat d'Alacant has a very efficient housing department. I was given the address of the apartment with great timing and I was fully satisfied with the quality of it. Besides, sharing it with other international students was the best way to improve languages and integrate.

The housing that the university provides is okay. My host family was great; however, the price was a little too much. The only problem is they take forever to get anything done, which is normal for Spain.

I am very happy living in my 2 bedroom apartment which I am sharing with another student who is also an English speaker. The apartment is very spacious and makes living here very comfortable. The are in where I live is just 5 minutes walk from the main centre and about 10/15 minutes walking distance from the main bus and train station. University is slightly outside Alicante but the bus takes you straight to the door and takes a good 20 minutes each way.
