small city, not very central
Erik M
Mexico, Graduate
Business Studies, 2007
Overall
The university is nice, but as a City, Maastricht is very small and limited. The facilities are the smallest in the Netherlands, with regards to the academic hospital for example. The good thing is the influx of international students from the countries which border the Netherlands, being Germany and Belgium principally. A disadvantage is that it is far from the central government, and therefore real opportunities to continue your career within the country would be mitigated.

Personal comments
The language I spoke most was english (though I often spoke french with the french and belgian people). I hardly ever had problems in communicating myself in english, though acquired more fluency. I was not afraid of not speaking the local language (dutch, even a dialect of dutch in Maastricht), because I knew that english was widely spoken. And it really is! So I did not really had the chance of learning dutch since everybody spoke english, though I got to learn some expressions.

Living in the international student dorms was a good way to meet people and was a supportive community. The housing was bad, but the opportunity to easily meet people was well worth t.

Très bonne université internationale
Anil B
Belgium, Graduate
Business Studies, 2019
Overall
