Universiteit Maastricht (UM)

Everything is double or triple what I pay for at home. That is, however, due to the economic situation in my country of origin and were I from any other European state, I would have not had any financial problems.

Problem-based learning is rewarding experience, but depends on the the level of course coordinator, the general participation degree and some other contigencies, such as the president's ability to lead a meaningful discussion etc.

More information on orientation, IT infrastructure update--PC number and quality upgrde, "Blackboard" systems should be stable and meaningful

The facilities have been improved now, but when I was there were really not wonderful, so if I had to go back now I would definitely stay at the campus.

i wish i had tried more to learn about the netherlands before i;d arrived

This seems like a really good university with very challenging academics...if you want to do absolutely no real studying, this is not the program for you

It's ok to live at the student's Guest House for a short while (1 semester), but for extended periods of time, it's not a good deal. The prices are too high for what you get, it's far better to find a place in town with more space and the same extras (internet, phone, etc.)for a much lower price. It's worth saying, though, that for an erasumus student that doesn't speak dutch, living at the univerity's residece is easier, as it's not necessary to deal with landlords, contracts, you always get your deposits back, and it's easier to meet people.
