'cos everything is more expensive. The food in markets is simmilar or even sometimes cheeper, depends on what you are able to eat ;-)
Of course if not cooking by your own expenses for food rise.
Very expensive traveling.ADIVICE - buy a good map and go hitchhike !

Open an account in a local bank - cash bonus guarantee (50 pounds?). For international calls use cards you can buy in phone shops. Bring a car if you want to travel a lot. If planning to travel a lot by coaches buy a coach-card. Never use trains :-) Sometimes 2 pounds more for b&b is much better choice than youth hostel. Travel by hitchhiking, it works thoug many people say it doesn't.

the 5 pound charge per month from barcklays bank if students have less than 1000 pound in their account- choose only a bank with the debit card , credit card is useless
