It's always interesting learning about the differences between American and British English. I had a few embarrassing moments, but generally people were pretty kind. The teachers are also fine with students using American spelling in their essays.

At the beginning it's easy to feel like you have not learn enough of the language to speak fluently but as long as you keep speaking and you get familiar with some key words things go easier.

It was not easy at the beginning to communicate, my english was quite bad. But it is a great experience to learn to communicate in an other language. This first experience helped me a lot and when I arrived in spain it has been easier to speak.
