We lived in Coogee (one of the beach-y suburbs) and there are great cafes there... go to Globe. But the best night life is in Darling Harbour and Kings Cross.

It is all in English -- there were no language barriers. It is imperative that you attend tutorials, as instructors are not the primary coursework evaluators

Academic
Course recommendations
Take international business at the main campus; it was a really great course with a phenomenal lecturer. Australian sociology was a trip... liberal arts courses in Australia are taught very differently in Oz compared to the states. I took a couple of classes at the college of fine arts (a different campus) -- they were awesome. I highly recommend taking an arts course or two there.

Personal spending habits
The cost of living is higher in Australia than in Texas. Travel expenses to see Australia and NZ were obviously more than i would spend in a given semester traveling to and from cities in Texas

Personal recommendation
The Uni doesn't have a close on-campus student friendship fostering feel the way it does in Texas... I hung out with other international students I met through my exchange program and locals i met in class.
