I wish I had known...
Probably, but it is all about the experience. You really just have to learn as you go, and people are very friendly and very helpful.

It is big, but not too big, and there is enough going on to keep you busy. I would recommend this university to anyone that wanted to study in Australia. The city and the beach are easily accessible, there are a lot of great bars, cafes, and restaurants, and Sydney is only an hour and half communte by train.

There are a lot of Americans that study at this university making it a bit difficult for an American to become friends with non-Americans. If you are only there for a semester, many non-Americans are wary of becoming friends because while they stay, you will be leaving.

Academics and other activities (mostly drinking and surfing) are equally treated by most of the students here- if you prefer focusing on academics only, you might want to consider other universities.

Overall
Excellent, highly qualified staff. A leading University in Australia. Facilities are state of the art and second to none. Courses cover all areas and are offered at undergraduate and post graduate level.
Superb location, close to Sydney yet far enough to get clean, cheap accommodation. Excellent social city and vast array of beaches and sports facilities for leisure time, both on and off campus.

Don't choose the residences of halls or just a couple of months because it's expensive. Travelling is quite fun because there are a lot of people in this case and you will meet easily people.
