They try to offer a good educational program to erasmus students but i think they need more teachers speaking English in order to do so!

Skyeurope offers cheap flights directly in Bratislava, if u chose another company you should better land in Wien and from there take the train! In your travels there use Student Agency buses! They r very very cheap and offer amazing travelling conditions!Best way to go to Voudapest! The train sucks.

Overall
As I have been here in Slovakia country for the first time for my master studies, So I really feel good cause people are so friendly around and facing with many educated and well experience people is itself pleasure giving. I have start learning the culture and the language but the language will defiantly take little bit time. I have nice classmates they are caring and mostly they are from many other countries which enables me to seek their culture or at least to have its knowledge.

Careers
We have a lots of internship opportunity, though I have experience more than four years, then it is better to use the experience and continue my working career rather then being in intern position. I have internship in my home country through which I have been promoted to the senior level position.

Pros
University have well knowledge ad well experienced teachers and strong management
Cons
In some area they should have better cooperation with new members and new joiners, it should be proper structure for the building and proper schedule for visiting and solving the problems.

I wish I had known...
There are language courses (i.e. meeting other foreign students and getting to know the country faster) in the beginning of september, I wish I knew about them.

Okay, It's not Oxford or Harvard (cliche), but still I'd definitely recommend it, slovakia is a country in full transition and it's really nice to see and experience this.

I've had a great time and wished I could have stayed longer. Bratislava doesn't sound sexy (most people confuse Slovakia with Slovenia or the Czech rep.), but is in the center of central Europe (Vienna, Krakow, Budapest, Prague are all nearby). There is great night-life, lot's of things to do during the day (eg. skiing, trekking in the tatras, watching beautifull girls while drinking a beer on a sunny day). Initially the accomodation will look a bit 'sub-standard', but why spend your days in a room?) Lots of slovak students have been abroad (to work, or to study), and know how you feel having the inevitable 'culture-shock'.

Comenius University review

Overall
I wanted best school in slovak language and literature and this was it. There are lots of people doing great job, but there are also some of them, who use their students for their job, for example doing teacher´s research instead of studying and working on themselves.

Academic
Course recommendations
A quality of a course depends highly on the personality/motivation of every individual teacher; this also holds true in Bratislava; there were good teachers and also... At my faculty internet acces was no problem (there are also enough internet cafés in the city), books, however, were a big problem (I am grateful to my teachers who helped me out), most local students relied primarily on their notes (in Slovak).

The slovak eduction system is, in my view, a bit too 'elite'st. But once you pass the entrance exams, it gets easier (and lots of students cheated - so what's the point). More funding by the government is neccesary

Personal spending habits
The culture of Slovakia is different than the portuguese culture. I spent maybe more than on my country because i was trabelling a lot and the eramus environment demanded from me a extra budget for some activities.

Personal comments
On the first days, be carefull, mainly on nightlife because people will charge you more than the correct if they see that you are a foreigner. Don't go shopping in Bratislava beacuse is not so cheap as you can think. If you know the right restaurants, you can eat out paying a very cheap prices
