Housing
Type of housing: the first month was spent with a host family
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: A room exchange
Why?
I would like to live with young students in order to improve my Czech. However, the dorms were not very nice places to live.

Personal comments
The housing was good because I had 2 roommates, one was Czech and one was polish. Unfortunately, they put all of the Americans on the same floor and this kept us in a group. In general, I think this hindered the experience by making it more difficult to meet Czech friends.

Overall
I wish I had known...
You are limited to an American group and the program is very small. This has its benefits but can also be very suffocating.

Personal comments
When I left the Czech Republic I could hold conversations in Czech, some of which were complex. Czech is a difficult language to learn and many Czech's complimented me. In Prague, it is more difficult because people want to practice their English and do not have the patience to listen to your broken Czech.
