Personal recommendation
The University should try to assist more in foreign student housing. Also if the University could arrange for Flemish language intergration courses to be included in the curriculum. Finally more communicative atmosphere be promoted between visiting students and host country students.

I would like to say that my overall experience as a student at teh VUB was not bad, I made a series of good friends and had some really interesting courses too. My advice to new commers is that they should be adequiately prepared to start in a new culture. For the organisers of the different courses, it will be very interesting to that students do more of practivcal work than theory as most student have the visions of getting to learn more about what they had always known from lectures back in developing countries. Every course should be met by organisation of trips and visits to sites, factories, Industries, Laboratories if the need be.

Review of Vrije Universiteit Brussel
Leon B
Belgium, Undergraduate
Business Studies, 2023
Overall
During my first semester, I was experiencing the VUB for approximately 2 months. Everything else we did was from home, so online lectures and for that, I can say that VUB has done a great job. It is a big university with a lot of international students especially in my class with fifty percent of students coming from abroad. I really like VUB and in the future, I hope to spend more time on the campus and less at home.

Overall
The staff is cooperative and highly educated. The research topics going on in the University is active and gives a good exposure to the current market and industrial problems.
The administration is well managed. There is a option to choose the housing within campus which is actually very good and also cheap compared outside to Brussels.

Belgium is nicer as it might seem at the first sight. Many places to go and see - especially Westhoek natural reservation in De Panne and town of Dinant.

Overall
This programme is great for those who are into Politics/Communications/Sociology. It's entirely in English, super international vibe, professors are nice, but the university is struggling with administrative issues (e.g. visas, emails, exchanges...), you have to be very patient.
