Great launchpad to explore Central Europe

The academic units were tiny, resulting in most people having to take 7-9 courses to fulfill the minimum academic load requirement. But it wasn't an issue as the professors are kind enough to allow you to complete the course with an essay submitted before the first half of the semester (more time to travel)

Courses are indeed more qualitative than quantitative. It was definitely my first time attending Finance-related class (I take Corporate Finance) and did 0 financial modeling or any indepth case studies.

The only issue with the ridiculous number of courses that we have to take is the terrible administration. We had final exams scheduled at the same timing, or exams that overlap! When professors and administrators were emailed in attempt to resolve it, we were simply told to find the opposing party for the resolution and they are not willing to help at all.

Polish students were kind enough to guide us around and the buddy system was very useful. My assigned project member even offered to help me present my part to allow me to travel to Prague. (added on LinkedIn for professional development in the future <3 thanks Monika!)

The buildings were not the most maintained, lack of break out rooms or facilities for project discussion and work to be held in. The library wasn't the most conducive tbh, and I ended up spending most of my time studying or conducting project discussions in my room or at the steps of some random floor.

Sabinki is very affordable and provides opportunities for you to mingle around people from different nationalities.

Points forts
Manageable course loads despite the administrative mess-ups. Seriously affordable compared to most West and Northern European countries.
Inconvénients
No academic challenge for the coursework. Not many group projects, university seem to focus more on individual assignments and project presentation. There weren't any breakout rooms or proper meeting areas for group projects to be conducted.

Prestigious University Lacking In Dedication and Organisation

While the Warsaw School of Economics is considered one of the most prestigious universities in the country, especially if one wishes to study a business or economy related course, however it does lack in the fields of organisation or dedication when it comes to teaching.
Acquiring the information required to advance in your studies can be quite troublesome and might require one to make multiple inquiries at the dean's office or the designated social media groups for students. The fact that the university website is not very transparent does not help.
On top of that, some on the lecturers working at the university, while certainly very knowledgeable and having useful practical skills, do not seem to be dedicated to teaching, which results in the student losing interest in the subject that is taught to them or them not being satisfied with the  skills they have acquired at the time the semester has ended. This opinion, of course, does not correspond to all lecturers, as some of them are visibly passionate about their vocation.
This being said, Warsaw School of Economics is still a university that can offer a lot to its students: frequent events  allowing potential employers to scout new talent at the university campus, rich social life due to the great number of special interest groups and many social events that are organised by the student bodies, as well as access to, often exclusive,  to a vast sea of knowledge that the lecturers, often very experienced and respected in their fields of expertise,  are there to share.

It's one of the most reputed college in europe

The Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) has consistently ranked as the top business school in Poland, for decades it has bread the financial elites of this country and is generally regarded as a top education institution in Poland. That said, in a European context it does not make the cut to be ranked among the leading business schools.

If your aim is to find a well ranked, high paying job outside of Poland then I would think you will do much better opting out. For jobs in Poland you will be in a relatively strong position. That said, when recruiting for our VC fund (or my M&A team in a bank in the past) my best candidates came 33% SGH, 33% Warsaw University and 33% Kozminski University. The latter has lately become a viable alternative to SGH and has actually outranked it in European league tables.
