Bench Scientist Plant Physiology (all genders)
As a Bench Scientist in Plant Physiology, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing innovative assays for plant phenotyping and imaging. You will work collaboratively with scientific colleagues to refine standard procedures, ensuring robust data collection. Your expertise will drive the integration of automation and digitalization technologies, optimizing operational efficiency and enhancing data quality.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* You develop and implement innovative assays for plant phenotyping and imaging, refining standard procedures for robust data collection
* You integrate automation and digitalization technologies to optimize operational efficiency and enhance data quality
* You analyze imaging data, focusing on Root X-ray CT datasets, and maintain oversight of comprehensive workflows
* You conduct thorough data analysis, diagnose technical challenges, and apply solutions to improve assay performance
* Furthermore, you manage technical and organizational aspects related to system and automation availability
* You provide direct support, supervision, and mentorship to interns, graduates, and early career scientists
WHO YOU ARE
* You hold a Master's or PhD in Plant Physiology, Agronomy, Plant Biochemistry, Computer Vision, or a related field
* You have hands-on experience in plant physiology or plant biochemistry, with expertise in laboratory automation for imaging data analysis
* You possess a background in computer vision and data science to improve throughput and data quality
* A strong interest in biological mechanisms in plants and imaging technologies, sets you apart
* You are proficient in method development, problem-solving, and optimizing lab workflows for imaging analysis
* In addition, you exhibit a very strong collaborative mindset and networking skills
* You are fluent in English, both written and spoken; German proficiency is advantageous

* We ensure your financial stability with a competitive salary between 77.300,00EUR and 93.800,00EUR per year (full-time) plus a variable component. Your compensation is based on your qualifications, skills, and professional experience.
