We are currently recruiting for an Equipment technician in an 12-month contract role to support our engineering department in Cork. The main responsibility of this role is the maintenance and troubleshooting of existing and new automation. A typical day to day, would include:

* Provide first response technical support to automated equipment.
* Responsible for defining maintenance and troubleshooting procedures of new equipment introduced to site.
* Assist Engineering in the installation and implementation of new equipment. Responsible for the provision of equipment training to the wider engineering team.
* Daily reporting into Engineering on all activities and highlighting concerns early.
* Responsible for investigating and documenting process issues and report to Engineering all findings and solutions.
* Support safety risk assessments for any new equipment introduced.
* Ensure continual Quality System compliance by adherence to established and evolving Alcon QS requirements.
* Assigned work adheres to H&S and environmental requirements.
* Order and maintain stocks of spares and components.
* Carry out modifications and upgrades.

What you'll bring to the role:
* A minimum Level 7 qualification in an Engineering or Technical discipline
* Strong technical ability and automation experience would be preferred.
* Ability to trouble-shoot equipment issues.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Good problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of ISO, FDA, GMP standards.
