Junior Accountant trainee

DHL Global Forwarding has an opening for Junior Accountant trainee in Cameroon. In this role, you will support the Finance team with daily accounting tasks, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, processing transactions, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. You will gain exposure to a full range of accounting activities while helping to ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.

In this Junior Accountant trainee position
* You will process supplier invoices and support payment runs.
* You will prepare customer invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables.
* You will support supplier debit items clearing and aged accruals.
* You will assist with vendor and customer reconciliations.
* You will prepare and post journal entries under supervision.
* You will maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
* You will support month-end and year-end closing activities.
* You will reconcile balance sheet accounts (e.g., bank, prepayments, accruals).
* You will assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
* You will support internal and external audit requirements.
* You will help ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
* You will maintain organized documentation and filing systems.
* You will respond to internal and external finance queries.
* You will participate in process improvement initiatives.
Now, here's what we need from you.
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Basic understanding of accounting principles (IFRS knowledge is a plus).
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
* Experience with accounting or ERP software (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics) is an advantage.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong sense of confidentiality and integrity.
