Beschreibung:

What is Decision Analytic Modelling in Healthcare?
When a new medicine, vaccine or medical technology is developed, healthcare systems globally face decisions on whether to fund it, and for whom. These decisions involve complex trade-offs: How effective is the treatment compared to current alternatives? What are the costs over a patient's lifetime? How does it affect quality of life?

Decision analytic modelling in healthcare is the discipline that helps answer these questions. Using quantitative models (e.g., decision trees, Markov models, survival-based simulations and other mathematical frameworks) we synthesise clinical evidence, cost data and patient related outcomes to project the long-term value of healthcare interventions. Our models inform pricing, reimbursement and access decisions made by payers, health technology assessment (HTA) bodies, and regulatory authorities across the globe.

Prior Experience
If you have a strong quantitative background - whether in mathematics, statistics, engineering, economics, biomedical sciences or a related discipline - and enjoy building structured quantitative models, working with data and solving complex analytical problems, this role as an Analyst - Health Economic Modeller offers an opportunity to apply those skills in a meaningful real-world context, helping patients to access treatments they need.

No prior experience in health economic modelling is required.

This is an entry-level role with structured training opportunities designed to build technical depth in decision analytic modelling for healthcare and develop subject matter expertise. Within IQVIA's Global Health Economic Modelling Team, as part of a structured onboarding program, you will be provided with comprehensive training in health economic modelling methods, HTA processes and the life sciences industry.

The Role
As an analyst, you will work flexibly across health economic modelling projects, gaining exposure to a broad range of model types, therapeutic and disease areas, and healthcare systems. The primary focus of this role is on supporting the development of de novo models and adaptations of existing models that support evidence-based healthcare decision-making, although there is flexibility to work on other types of projects should the opportunity arise. Analysts support the team in project delivery, with the opportunity to also support business development.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop decision analytic models - contribute to the design and programming of quantitative models (e.g. decision trees, Markov models, partitioned survival models) in Microsoft Excel (and VBA) and R, with support and guidance from more senior team members
* Conduct statistical analyses - perform basic statistical analyses (descriptive statistics, regression analysis, survival analysis) using R to generate inputs for decision analytic models
* Produce project deliverables - develop model analysis plans, technical reports, user guides and slide decks with guidance from the project team, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines
* Support the Centre of Excellence - contribute to the development of global modelling materials, processes, methodology, and templates as part of the Global Health Economic Modelling Centre of Excellence
* Support thought leadership - assist in the dissemination of findings through conference abstracts, posters, articles and presentations, and contribute to internal initiatives for innovative methodological approaches
* Build knowledge of the team's offerings - develop familiarity with the full range of the team's modelling and broader health economics offerings to support business development opportunities as they arise

The demand for IQVIA's decision analytic modelling offerings has seen dramatic increases over the past years and will continue to expand in response to evolving analytical, software and regulatory processes globally.
The role is based in either Greece, Portugal or South Africa, with flexibility regarding frequency of office and home working.

The Successful Candidate
We are looking for proactive individuals with strong quantitative and problem-solving skills who are excited by the prospect of applying analytical modelling to real-world healthcare challenges. You do not need a background in health economic modelling - we are looking for people who naturally approach problems through structured quantitative thinking, are comfortable with numbers and data, and are eager to learn how their technical skills can be applied in a new and impactful domain.
Candidates should have the technical aptitude to work with spreadsheet-based models and statistical software, combined with a curiosity about how data-driven analysis can support decision-making. The tenacity to work through complex, iterative modelling tasks and deliver to a high standard is a quality we particularly value.

The role requires analysts to work flexibly across multiple projects. A baseline level of organizational skills and time management is important to ensure that analysts can complete their assigned work to meet deadlines at a consistently high standard, while maintaining a good work-life balance.
The ideal applicant should have apt interpersonal skills and the ability to establish relationships with both internal team members and clients. As such, fluency in English is essential. The ability to demonstrate this through slide deck development, report writing, and presentations is essential.

Qualifications
IQVIA are focused on selecting candidates with passion and drive to be successful in the industry. There is no specific profile that is conducive to success, and we recruit individuals from a variety of backgrounds to create a well-rounded team. If you are motivated, have a curiosity about healthcare, and strong analytical skills we encourage you to apply. The list below should be viewed as a guide rather than a checklist.

Essential:
* BSc or MSc in a quantitative or technical discipline (e.g., mathematics, actuarial sciences, physics, statistics, engineering, biomedical sciences, operations research, or related fields). Degrees in health economics are welcome but not required
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and at least one programming or statistical software environment (e.g., R, MATLAB, Python, or similar)
* Basic statistical literacy (e.g., descriptive statistics, regression analysis, etc.)
* Experience building or working with quantitative models (e.g., simulation models, optimization models, statistical models, engineering models, etc.) whether in academic projects, internships, or coursework
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English language
* Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn quickly and independently
* Tenacity to work through complex, iterative analytical tasks
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to check own work
* Strong time management and organizational skills, and flexibility to work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment
* Keen to work as a member of a diverse, multi-cultural team

Desirable:
* MSc in any of the above disciplines or in health economics
* Dissertation or thesis project involving quantitative modelling or data analysis
* Experience with or interest in healthcare, life sciences, and the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industry
* Familiarity with decision analytic modelling concepts (e.g. decision trees, Markov models, cost-effectiveness analysis)
* Familiarity with VBA or advanced Excel functionality, including contemporary Excel functions (e.g. LET, LAMBDA)
* Familiarity with survival analysis or time-to-event analysis concepts
* Knowledge of health technology assessment (HTA) processes or healthcare reimbursement systems
Please submit your CV in English.
