Position Description:

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Student Co-op Software Developer to join our dynamic team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on full stack development and RPA Automation/Data engineering projects using Java, Spring Boot, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. You will work alongside experienced engineers and gain hands-on experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable applications and data pipelines in a cloud-native environment.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $18-32/hour. This role is an existing vacancy.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities
* Reverse engineer and document current VBA code base
* Develop and test RPA Automation Scripts/Workflow using BluePrism/UIPath etc
* Develop and enhance web applications using Java, Spring Boot, and front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or plain HTML/CSS/JS).
* Collaborate on building RESTful APIs and microservices.
* Work with GCP services such as Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, and Dataflow.
* Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and documentation.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Qualifications
* Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related program.
* Exposure to programming skills in Java; familiarity with VBA is preferred.
* Exposure to front-end technologies (React, Angular, or basic JS/CSS/HTML).
* Interest in RPA Automation & Data Engineering concepts and working with structured data.
* Basic knowledge or hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services is a plus.
* Familiarity with SQL and databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, or BigQuery).
* Self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to work in a collaborative environment.

Nice to Have
* Knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker, CI/CD pipelines.
* Exposure to big data tools like Apache Beam, Spark, or Dataflow.
* Knowledge of RPA Automation framework/tools
