Beschreibung:
CREAF is seeking a support technician for the PEDRERES project (Research and innovation in the control and restoration process of extractive activities) with ref. 90003 and funded by the Departament de Territori, Habitatge i Transició Ecològica de la Generalitat de Catalunya, and NewLIFE4BioIslands project (Establishing New Biodiversity Islands in Degraded Land to Reverse Native Pollinator Decline, Improve Habitat) with ref. 101216081 and funded by the European Commission.
The PEDRERES project aims to support the implementation of the protocol for the use of drones and image processing in the flights carried out by the RPAS Unit of the Aerial Support Service of the Rural Agents in extractive activities. It also seeks to continue the work of assessing the degree of self-regeneration of abandoned extractive activities (passive restoration), in accordance with the available inventory of abandoned extractive activities (EXTABA).
The NewLIFE4BioIslands project aims to restore degraded landscapes in five regions-Gran Canaria and Barcelona in Spain, Crete and Mount Pangeon in Greece, and Lazio in Italy-in order to benefit native pollinators.
A full-time contract is offered (37.5 hours per week), for immediate start, with a duration until 31 december 2026, with the possibility of extension if the budget allows. The offered salary is 26.542,83 gross per year (corresponding to category T4A).
MAIN FUNCTIONS:
* Participation in all project meetings.
* Production of cartography of degraded areas.
* Processing of data obtained from drone flights.
* Fieldwork.
* Preparation of reports and communication materials.
* Support in the organization of project-related activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Degrees include training in Soil Science (preferably graduates in Biology, Environmental Biology, Environmental Sciences, or Geology).
* Advanced studies in GIS and remote sensing.
* Demonstrated experience in field and laboratory techniques in Soil Science (through internship certificates, contracts, or letters of recommendation).
* Proven experience in vegetation monitoring studies.
* Proven experience in monitoring the restoration of extractive activities.
* Good physical condition for field sampling.
* Type B driving license.
* Good level of Catalan and English.
ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS:
* Proven experience in research work in the field of GIS and remote sensing.
* Proven experience in drone image processing.
* Knowledge of the geography of Catalonia.
* Candidates with a certified disability of 33% or more will be prioritized, provided the disability is compatible with the position's responsibilities.
SELECTION PROCESS AND CRITERIA:
