Description du poste:

Do you want to work with the latest technologies and tools to build LLM powered solutions that make services for customers and colleagues better, faster and simpler? Are you a data scientist with hands on experience in Generative AI and ready for a new challenge? And do you enjoy optimizing and automating processes using LLMs and Agentic AI? Then this role is exactly what you are looking for.
Our team is expanding and we are looking for a new colleague to strengthen our AI team within Life & Pensions Services.

What you are going to do
As a GenAI Data Scientist, you will become part of the AI team within the Life & Pensions Services organization. This is a diverse environment in which we manage pensions for employers and their employees and take care of the administration and payout of life insurance products. Together, we serve approximately 2.3 million individual life insurance policies and 1.7 million pension participants.
We act as a center of expertise for building scalable and reusable GenAI based solutions for Life & Pensions Services. Together with your colleagues, you will develop innovative AI solutions that add real value to the organization.
Your role focuses on exploring new technologies, connecting them to business opportunities, and building and implementing new AI solutions. You will work with state of the art techniques such as Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), LLM frameworks and OpenAI APIs. Where relevant, you will also apply more traditional machine learning techniques to create value for our customers.
You understand how to help colleagues translate their needs into AI solutions. With your strong analytical skills, you quickly grasp how business processes work and identify where AI can play a role in optimizing those processes.
Concretely, you will:
* Develop and implement innovative (Gen)AI solutions to optimize and automate processes
* Implement existing AI solutions developed by other departments within Life & Pensions Services
* Collaborate closely with business units to continuously identify new opportunities for AI
* Analyze and solve complex business and technical challenges

What we offer you
At NN, we invest in an inclusive and inspiring work environment and in skills for the future. We combine this with employment conditions that fit both today and tomorrow, giving you the opportunity to get the best out of yourself.
You will receive:
* A gross monthly salary between EUR4,547 and EUR6,496, depending on your knowledge and experience, based on a 40 hour work week
* A 13th month and holiday allowance, paid out monthly
* 27 vacation days based on a 5 day work week, plus three Diversity Days
* A modern pension scheme via BeFrank
* Plenty of training and development opportunities
* An NS Business Card (2nd class) for unlimited travel, including private use. Prefer to travel using your own transport? Then you can claim travel expenses per kilometer
* Allowances for setting up your home office and for internet usage
In addition, you will have the opportunity to connect with other young and enthusiastic colleagues through NN Young, and to further develop yourself together with over 100 data scientists within NN Group via the Data Science Guild

Who you are
You have:
* A Master's degree in Data Science, Econometrics, or a related field
* 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience as a data scientist, developing ML applications, deploying LLM based solutions and/or implementing RAG
* Experience with agentic frameworks is considered a strong plus
* Practical knowledge of the full data science lifecycle, including data collection, data cleaning, model evaluation and deployment
* Experience with software engineering practices and tools such as Azure, CI/CD pipelines, Git and automated testing
* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate easily with both technical and non technical colleagues
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills, combined with a proactive and customer oriented mindset
* A good command of the Dutch language
But above all, you are highly motivated to continue developing yourself in the field of (Generative) AI and data science

Who you will work with
You will be part of the AI Life & Pensions Services team, consisting of four data scientists and a business process manager. Together, we identify AI opportunities, build solutions and implement them within the organization.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders, an engineering team that supports robust hosting of solutions, and various IT teams that assist with implementation. We work according to the Scrum methodology and combine working from home with working at our office, which is located directly next to Rotterdam Central Station.
The atmosphere within the team is collegial, open and informal, with plenty of room for initiative and new ideas. At Nationale Nederlanden, we work in a hybrid way: partly from home and partly from the office. Teams decide together what works best. The official work location for this role is Rotterdam.
