there are different campuses and if you are lucky you get a nice place, but most of them are far away and unpleasant.

Academic
Course recommendations
Just a general advice: a title of a course may sound very interesting, but the teacher is very bad, and may occure the opposite. So at first you have to try so many courses you find good for you and chose the best teachers.

Final comments
The most comfortable to get there is take train from Basel (CH), but also from Stuttgart or even Frankfurt the connection is ok. If you want to spare some money there are always regional-tickets (around 23eur) or weekend-tickets (28eur), which are valid for 5 people. Travelling together can be fun and much cheaper:). Good coffee in MichelAngelo next to the UB. Buy or bring a bicycle, you will need it, but be careful, because very often bicycles are stolen.

Mostly I learned a lot reading. Of course I spoke also quite much, but the language improvement concerns mainly vocabulary.
