Overall
I wish I had known...
I should have learned more Danish before going there, but that wasn't really much of a problem.

Personal recommendation
This university is great fun, especially for international students. It can be quiet on campus at times, but København is only 30 minutes away - and that is party city!

Final comments
A lot of the other international students didn't make much effort to meet Danish people. I did, through a club I was in, and it really was nice to meet them. The Danes can be hard to get to meet, but once the ice is broken they are wonderful people.

Course recommendations
Because my home university was just for "undergraduates" while DTU only had a combined undergraduate/graduate program, I made a mistake in choosing some of my classes because I ended up taking courses that were WAY beyond my level but it really could not have been avoided; the set-up up highschool vs. Danish gymnasium and then university is quite different in the two schools/nations.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Because public transport in Denmark is quite expensive, and if you live on campus, then it is easier to know new people.

Personal comments
In my opinion, they have a big problem with the accommodation of the exchange students. There are a lot of them (more than 500), but only one or two persons working on this aim. Moreover, there are only few posibilities to live in a residence, which is better and cheaper, and I think that it could be nice if they build two or three more (living in a family, which is so common, has not been a good experience for most of the exchange students.
