In this part of spain, there is also another language "el Vasco", but most of the people spoke th enormal spanish and I learned a lot. There are still peolple here with whom I'm speaking english, but the spanish is getting better and better. You have tot have a bit of discipline, though, to look up words in your diccionary when you don't know them etc.

At first it was difficult to get used to the accent (I had perviously been instructed in Spanish for Mexico) but after a while you get used to the accent and the local slang. Overall a wonderful experience.

In most of the cases I didn┤t have big problems. Sometimes it wasn┤t that easy to understand all academic and business terms, but in general i regard it a good opportunity to improve my spanish.

As I have studied spanish before the period abroad for more than two years it was all fairly easy to get around. The 6 months in Spain helped me to improve my language skills.

The local language was Basque and I never felt attracted by the idea of learning it. I loved learning Spanish and I am very happy to speak it fluently now.
