In this part of spain, there is also another language "el Vasco", but most of the people spoke th enormal spanish and I learned a lot. There are still peolple here with whom I'm speaking english, but the spanish is getting better and better. You have tot have a bit of discipline, though, to look up words in your diccionary when you don't know them etc.

In most of the cases I didn´t have big problems. Sometimes it wasn´t that easy to understand all academic and business terms, but in general i regard it a good opportunity to improve my spanish.

As I have studied spanish before the period abroad for more than two years it was all fairly easy to get around. The 6 months in Spain helped me to improve my language skills.

The local language was Basque and I never felt attracted by the idea of learning it. I loved learning Spanish and I am very happy to speak it fluently now.
