It was a bit difficult in the beginning but my proficiency in German improved with more interaction with people in the community and not just the students.

The University provides German classes to foreign students, which are quite good. Local students are fairly friendly, but do not seem to be too excited about making new friends from abroad, probably to due their intense workloads. So you are more likely to have a good time with the other foreign students you meet there...

I have to precise we had the choice between courses in english and german. I took both. I must say that german students are really good in english!

It was alright. Most students spoke English. A couple of classes were in German.
