Make sure you fill your SAAS form once you know where you're going. Had to pay quite a large slice of my tuition fees. Although they are now abolished for students in Scotland. Buy your clothes in second had shops. Never buy brand new uni books (students of previous years always try to get some quids for their used and overused (well sometimes untouched) textbooks. Only buy stuff during the sales, same stuff different (affordable) price. Don't smoke.

Everything in the UK is just more expensive (x1,5). Only nightlife might be cheaper (going to the movies, drinking,...)

in shops it was impossible to pay with my bank card, they do not have a system like ours where you can pay with mastercard or something. Only visa or another credit card is possible. So do not forget to take your visa with you!

Inlation rates made everything much more expensive and because you're in a different country you tend to go out, explore and travel more.

Look out for inflation rates. Exploit student offers on anything. Drink less. Alcohol is expensive. Finding work is advisable.
