There is only one person in charge and she is simply swamped with all the work. Furthermore we had to pay 5 rental fees for 4 months + our rental fee was far over market price. However the flat was ok and it saved me a lot of time and worries.

it was cheaper, we had a lot of space, the apartment block was very secure, we were in a safe area, and some of our friends had problems with the on-campus housing (no kitchen facilities)

The banking system is Qc is pretty antiquated, and you need to book an appointment to set up a bank account. This can sometimes take several weeks.

Housing around campus gets easy to find around June or July, but before that be prepared to be charged a higher rate. If you could wait, wait until the summer to secure housing.

The university tries to convince you that you're better off getting your housing through them, but you usually end up paying more (except maybe in the dorms) than if you had looked yourself.
